Sprinkled amid the many burrito-mongers of Atlanta, there are a select few who go above and beyond our average tomato+meat+lettuce+tortilla formula. And at the helm of it all? Matt Hinton and his delectable specialty burritos.
We’ll be the first to admit – we’ve had our fair share of burritos. Okay, okay – fiiiiine…more than our fair share. (Sorry, Steve.) As self-taught burrito connoisseurs, we’ve learned a lot from our tortilla-filled tummies over the years. Namely that the snugly wrapped tubes of deliciousness come in two varieties: burritos and burritos. And Atlanta’s resident master of the later category is none other than Bell Street Burritos’ Matt Hinton.
He may be pretty humble about it, but Mr. Hinton has a serious gift. And that gift is rolling out some seriously delicious burritos. (Seriously, we would give him an honorary doctorate in burrito making if that were a thing. Is that a thing?) What did it take for this gift to come to light? Well, we never thought we’d see the day where we were thankful for an economic recession, but that’s exactly what prompted him to start trailblazing on the burrito front in the first place. After finding himself in a bit of a financial pickle, Matt put on his entrepreneurial hat and emailed friends to make and deliver burritos to them on Mondays. What ensued was nothing short of a burrito bonanza. And the rest is, as they say, history.
A delicious history at that. Whether its the beefy behemoth Steak and Shrimp burrito that you crave, or if your favorite way to get your greens is with a Broccoli, ‘Tater and Green Chili Burrito – there’s something at Bell Street to satiate the tortilla-filled dreams of any appetite. And since they’ve brought beer into the equation – most recently Monday Night Brewing – we’re hard-pressed to come up with a reason not
to eat there morning, noon, and night. We suggest you try it out for yourself – trot on over to Bell Street’s latest outpost in South Buckhead with your dining companion of choice. Take your pick of their four specialty burritos and pair it up with a local brew from Monday Night Brewing – who Bell Street just recently brought into the mix. From there all you’ve got to do is chow down, good scout. Chow down and savor the deliciousness.
