Champion pizza chef Tony of Three Cities Pizza will guide you in your quest to conquer dough styles, sauce-making, and pizza-devouring skills from America’s pie capitals while you fuel your culinary creativity with a shrub cocktail courtesy of The Learning Kitchen.
What To Expect
- Learn history of three different pizza cities and samples of their influence on pizza styles.
- A bonus lesson about shrubs and their history in the mixed drink world with a sampling of 5 different varieties in
addition to a mason jar freshly made by you to take home.
- A slice of pizza from your fav city to pair with your to-go jar of shrubs.
You've cultivated an appreciation for delicious pizza and have (hopefully?) graduated from the frozen variety. Perhaps you've even made earnest attempts at creating your own pizzas at home. But can you do this? Probably not, unless your name is Chef Tony, an ATLien pizzaiolo who's been practicing his craft for years. And in this workshop, over a couple glasses of shrub cocktails, he'll be schooling you in the distinguishing types of pie from three of America’s power pizza capitols: New York, Chicago, and Detroit.
During his class, Chef Tony will talk his students through the pizza process from start (dough-making) to finish (pizza-devouring) and everything in between.
We’ll start, of course, with the Shrubs tastings of 5 sweet and savory prepared Shrubs – you mix and match to your heart's content – using tonics, and sparkling water and bourbon and vodka – you choose! Then time to take your custom shrub and try Tony’s hot-out-of-the-oven pizzas.
And just to make sure you have something to take home, you’ll mix up your own Shrub concentrate and take home a jar with a slice of Tony’s pizza plus full recipes and instructions for future out this world cocktails and coolers!
