Atlanta is bursting at the seams with gyms and exercise studios, but in the midst of this sea of options there is a consistent problem. While boutique fitness classes are all over the place, and traditional gyms are easy to find, facilities that offer both are almost unheard of. This means that fitness buffs who like to workout out with weights and take classes with instructors are left with the prospect of driving around to different locations and shelling out the cash to cover multiple membership fees. That is, unless they’ve been introduced to The Forum Athletic Club.
Founded by former NFL players Roman Fortin and Dan Owens, the Forum combines the equipment of a traditional gym with a substantial variety of cardio and strength training classes, making it a perfect one-stop workout destination. No matter your workout style, The Forum has the resources to help you achieve any and all of your fitness goals. After more than a decade of business at their original facility at Lenox Square in Buckhead, Dan and Roman opened a second location – conveniently located on the first floor of Ponce City Market – last summer. In a few short months business is already booming, and we can think of no better way to get a taste of the action than with a 3-month membership, with exclusive access to The Forum’s signature Fast Twitch Classes.
The Forum’s gym area is stocked with every piece of equipment you could imagine. From dumbells ranging up to 115 lbs, to squat racks and plenty of hammer strength and Life Fitness machines, you’ll be able to jump right into your workout routine without skipping a beat. Plus, there are multiple sets of each piece of equipment, so you’ll never have to wait for the machine you want. The cardio deck has everything you need to work up a sweat, including treadmills, stairmills, elipticals, rowing machines, and stationary bikes.
When it comes to classes, The Forum is best known for its Fast Twitch program. These customizable circuit-training classes were developed by Roman and Dan to merge strength training and cardio into the ultimate full body workout. A typical Fast Twitch class consists of about 80% weight training, mixed in with 20% cardio, which will keep your heart up as you work your core and other muscle groups. The high intensity of the Fast Twitch classes translates into fast results, which keeps people coming back for more.
