How can you incorporate sustainability and permaculture into your urban lifestyle? Would you like to grow more food? Catch your rainwater? Develop a closer relationship and understanding of your landscape? Come for a happy hour in the studio garden of Shades of Green Permaculture Design's Founder & Lead Designer and Permaculture Teacher, Brandy Hall.
While sipping cocktails with herbal infusions freshly harvested from the studio garden, join Brandy and the Permaculture crew for a 1.5 hour tour of the Shades of Green Urban Homestead. Learn about growing organic food, herbal medicine, building thriving habitats with native and edible plants and flowers, healthy and chemical-free soils that do not rely on add-on fertilizers, water management and rainwater harvesting and non-grid solutions for cooking and heating.
Shades of Green Urban Homestead is located in the beautiful City of Pine Lake, which sits between Decatur and Stone Mountain. After the inspirational tour, take a self-guided walk to the beach and lake which is renown for its bio-filtration wetland that treats storm water and turns it into a swimmable and clean urban beach. Get inspired! Get outside!
