Perhaps no pastry is as timeless or as classic as our beloved donut. Be them iced or glazed, yeast or cake – no pastry quite captures our heart our taste buds quite like 'em. They are a small family-owned and operated baking-company, whose goal is to revitalize the American doughnut - to help restore it to its former glory as a simple, tasty, hand-crafted treat. The founder of Revolution Doughnuts, Maria Moore Riggs, fell in love with farm-to-table comfort food while working in the kitchen at Emandal, a California family resort known for delicious family-style meals made with ingredients sourced from its farm and two-acre organic garden. This experience ignited her passion for making and sharing delicious, high-quality food and she has been baking ever since. The name “Revolution” refers to their dedication to hand-crafted food - made by people and not machines. These good folks make all the dough, glazes and fillings from scratch and use real food ingredients in the recipes.
Because the recipes for these doughnuts are made with so much love, these delicious delights are just about as perfect as you'll find. The delightful cakey insides are an endless delight, no matter the toppings – but the toppings, y'all, is where the fun is! Our personal favorite is the Raspberry sprinkle, which is surely something out of a Homer Simpson’s doughnut dreams. (and for us Hand-Pickers, dreams do come true.) And the Bacon and Salted Caramel doughnut is as crave-worthy as it sounds. The bacon comes from the local charcuterie Pine Street Market in Avondale Estates! And with so many varieties that include the likes of Cinnamon Sugar, Nutella Cream Puff, Cinnamon Apple Fritter, and more in their ranks – it's unlikely that we'll ever tire of this goodness.
