Movie Night at the Pinewood
The Pinewood is inaugurating its newly expanded space in the best way possible: with a Movie Night series that pairs classic flicks with signature snacks and curated cocktails. First up, the quotable 80’s cult classic, The Goonies.
What To Expect
- Admission for 2 to Movie Night at The Pinewood
- A welcome cocktail for you and your date
- Complimentary movie theater snacks (candy and popcorn) plus signature sliders and Brussels sprouts fresh out of the kitchen
- The chance to win a free drink by playing movie bingo
- A one-of-a-kind movie experience in a fun, intimate setting
Last month The Pinewood unveiled an exciting new expansion, adding an entirely new dining room adjacent to the main bar space. To celebrate, the Decatur cocktail staple is immediately putting its new space to good use with a weekly movie night series. So grab your popcorn and get ready for a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience!
The Pinewood has some major movie buffs on its staff – Daniel the bar manager has a film major and Eric the bartender is in film school - so naturally, they’ve picked some quality flicks. The first run of films in the movie night series will focus on cult classics like Blade Runner, The Big Lebowski, and The Breakfast Club. And to kick things off, the first screening will be none other than the Spielberg comedy-adventure classic, The Goonies.
Obviously, watching a movie at a cocktail bar comes with some extra delicious perks. To start off, you’ll be greeted at the door by a welcome cocktail from The Pinewood’s menu of signature drinks – in this case, the fittingly titled “Goonies Never Say Die!”, a bourbon, ginger, and lime concoction that will get you right into the movie watching mood. Then, before you take your seat, you can help yourself to complimentary popcorn and candy. Once your seated and comfortable, you and your date will be able to enjoy a couple signature fried chicken, pulled pork, or burger sliders, as well as a helping of The Pinewood’s famous fried Brussels sprouts with herbsaint-buttermilk dipping sauce.
When the opening credits start to roll, the Pinewood’s new dining room will be transformed into the ultimate private movie theater, complete with blackout curtains, a widescreen projector, and state of the art speakers cranked to 11. Also, The Pinewood has added a dose of healthy competition to the festivities. Each guest will be given a movie-related Bingo card to fill out during the screening of the film, and the winner will receive a free drink! So, next time you and your boo are in the mood for a movie night, you could go to an overpriced and overcrowded multiplex, or you could enjoy a classic film in an intimate setting with the personal touch of curated libations and tasty bites. We think the choice is obvious.
