We’re all too aware of the benefits and virtues a yoga regimen can have in our lives, the a sense of equilibrium in our bodies, minds and hearts it can give us. On our most hectic days we find ourselves daydreaming of removing ourselves from our daily stressors, if even for just an hour. Yup, most days a mental retreat can be a bit of, well, a treat. But taking the plunge into dedicated yoga practice can be daunting to say the least. (You want us to do what? Twist ourselves how?) For those of us who haven’t been able to touch our toes since the fifth grade, there’s a retreat right here in town that can help us ease into the healthful, limber life we’ve always dreamed of having.

The mission of Active Sol is to intersect physicality and a mindful approach to movement that encourages students to deepen their understanding of themselves and their bodies. Their hope is that students who experience any of their classes will leave with a broadened relationship with their extremities and a hunger to deepen that relationship, leading to a healthier and more fulfilled lifestyle.
