Atlanta’s newest purveyor of contemporary American eatery fare has expanded into an AM service and you can be one of the first to sample their new brunch menu! The Mission + Market brunch service offered here features a delicious shared plate to start, your choice of entrees featuring some classic Brunch favorites and signature cocktails for each course!
Since opening just a few months ago, Mission + Market
has been drawing in an enthusiastic local crowd with its modern and upscale twists on classic American eatery style cuisine. Created by Chef Ian Winslade and Jonathan Akly, Mission + Market s the product of more than 25 years of globally influenced culinary experience. The restaurant combines midcentury style with a modern attention to detail to create a chic environment where hungry Atlantans can find well-executed classic cocktails and quality American cuisine. According to Chef Ian Winslade, "We want guests to connect with this space and then be surprised by the flavors of our menu." Now the Buckhead eatery is expanding into the world of weekend brunch and you can have a first look at their new morning offerings with this exclusive brunch for two!
To start things off in this epic brunch for two, there is a shared plate for the first course. Think Shakshouka Egg Drop with tomato, onion, sweet bell peppers; Everything Spiced Avocado Pita (pictured above) with shaved vegetables and poached eggs; Ricotta Fritters with blueberry jam; Breakfast Pizza with robiola, bacon and sunny side up egg; and so much more! Then comes the main course. You and your date (or foodie bestie) EACH will be able to choose either an entree or a Brunch Favorite plate. If you ask us, the standouts dishes here are the Corned Duck Hash (pictured above) with sunny side up duck egg and Blood Orange hollandaise; the Chicken & Waffles (pictured above) with Korean-style fried chicken, spiced maple syrup; or the Shrimp and Grits Sautéed Shrimp with Anson Mills cheese grits, tomato chutney. However you lean though, there is one thing for sure: no wrong choice exists on this menu! Oh, and did we mention each course comes with your choice of Bloody Mary or Mimosa??
First and foremost, if you consider yourself a true ATL foodie then Chef Ian Winslade’s incredibly experienced cooking career is the only reason you need to try Mission + Market. “Winslade, who came to the United States from Great Britain at age 22, began his career at New York’s Le Bernardin, widely recognized as one of the world’s finest restaurants. Winslade worked his way from the bakery to the kitchen as a sous chef under Eric Ripert, until he was recruited out west by a former Le Bernardin chef to open Opus, a French seafood concept, in Santa Monica. While Winslade says the first fifteen years of his training and career were almost entirely French, it was during his time in California when he began to immerse himself in multicultural cuisine and experiment with the abundance of fresh regional produce on offer at local farmers markets. With Mission + Market, Winslade is excited to bridge the classical training of his early career with the global influences and the produce-driven culinary approach he experienced in his time on the west coast.”
Even with so much to talk about from the kitchen side of this restaurant, we would be remiss to leave out a proper description of this space in all its stunning glory. As eloquently explained on the Mission + Market website, this space is an “innovative, yet timeless architectural and interior design that features clean lines, geometric décor, black leather, pops of vibrant teal, crushed velvet-wrapped upholstery, and greenery including a stunning, living moss wall and two fifteen-year-old indoor ficus trees.” So once your taste buds settle down from all the delish flavors, the vibes in this elegant yet comfortable environment will take you to that perfect post-brunch nirvana!
