Our friends at the Factory Girls fashion incubator are teaching the curiously crafty among us to make stackable rings, cuffs and bangles in small, intimate classes taught by their resident metalsmith and jewelry designer Starr Miller.
For anyone who’s ever gotten distracted looking at shiny things, anyone who’s ever wondered how to take metals and mold them to fit their own personal style, and folks who just like to work with their hands and maybe want to learn how to metalsmith, we got you covered. Yep, our friends at the Factory Girls fashion incubator are teaching the curiously crafty among us to make stackable rings, bangles, and cuffs in small, intimate classes taught by the artisans themselves. Factory Girls is a fashion incubator on the Westside (right next door to the Scoutmob HQ!), helping designers, makers, and artists flourish, keeping Atlanta beautiful with studio space and resources. And now, dear Scouts, you can join them for jewelry-making classes, and a maybe even a few drinks.
And you'll be learning from the best in the business. Resident metalsmith, Starr Miller, worked in a corporate job before turning her attention to making jewelry full time. Now she has her own studio and jewelry line called Pieces of Starr that sells unique, handmade pieces online and in boutiques around Atlanta. So yeah, we'd say she knows her stuff. Take a look at the class options and times to create your own jewelry:
Put a ring on it

You’ll definitely like it, so... you know the rest. It’s rings on rings, y’all. Learn the ins & outs of crafting stacking rings (like midi, thin and textured rings) and traditional wedding bands. If you’ve ever wanted to learn the basics of silversmithing including forming, filing, texturing, soldering, and polishing, this is your moment in the sun, thanks to your instructor.
