Traditionally, after Three King's Day (Sunday, January 6th), Puerto Rico celebrates the end of the Holiday season with the Festival de San Sebastián, also known as San Se. It is a three-day street festival in San Juan that runs from Thursday, January 17th all the way through Sunday, January 20th. The namesake comes from the road San Sebastian in San Juan where the festival takes place. According to Chef Hector, the Festival de San Sebastián is four days of music, food, culture, and art. A tradition El Super Pan hopes to reflect through their own celebration. They will be featuring music that is typical of the festival (Salsa and Plena), as well as featuring food from past Parranda events along with the seasonal drink of Coquito!
This party is a unique opportunity for you to experience the end of the Puerto Rican Christmas Season with a celebration of Festival de San Sebastian on “La Isla del Encanto.” As a party guest, you can enjoy El Super Pan's holiday drink, the COQUITO! (A delicious combination of rum and coconut.) There will also be other drink specials such as Metralla, the Punch de Navidad and Mojitos de Parcha. On Sunday the 20th from 4:00 pm to 8:00(ish) Chef Hector, you and the El Super Pan crew will be signing traditional Puerto Rican Christmas carols with instruments used in authentic Parrandas Puertorriqueña. All the while you will also be enjoying the sabores (flavors) of Arroz con Gandules y Lechon, Pasteles, Yuca Fritters, Cuajitos, Gandinga, and more!
The end of the night will be full of dancing and singing with Asopao and tostones to send you home warm and full. Trust us, after experiencing El Super Pan's Parranda, you will be positively bubbling with the new year spirit!
El Super Pan is proud to represent the Puerto Rican Diaspora this past Holiday Season all the way into 2019 and looks forward to continuing to be a destination within the Latino community for many years to come.
