Justin and Laura left their cushy, albeit boring, jobs in the corporate world to start their own restaurant, Eclectic Bistro, in 2012. And no, they’re not eclectic in the way you’d try to politely describe that aunt who depends too heavily on her horoscope and maybe believes in fairies. Rather, they’re taking the literal approach to the word by creating food and atmosphere with many sources, both domestic and international, of inspiration and style.
Since opening, Eclectic Bistro has become a staple and hidden gem for neighborhood dinner, and it gets top marks from all those websites offering marks. The dining room has large windows and is decorated with interesting paintings The food itself stays true to the spirit of the name: contemporary American with a twist. Chef Justin makes it his first mission that the food be good and at a good price. His second is to make it approachable, so you’re not going to find yourself Googling every ingredient before the server returns to your table. You will, however, enjoy the fresh, handmade sauces and dressings and other bits of extra flavor and quality running through every plate.
For this Handpicked brunch experience for two, you’re getting two cocktails, an appetizer and two entrees at Eclectic Bistro. Whether you’re grabbing some hair of the dog or starting your Sunday Funday, try their Bloody Mary, made with housemade spicy Bloody Mary mix. If Bloody Marys aren’t your thing, they have a full bar and cocktail menu available too. The small plates have fresh seafood features, like Crispy Calamari or Lobster Mango Ceviche, that are perfect for a summer brunch. For the main event, you’re going to want to try their Chicken Schnitzel and Belgian Waffles doused in housemade gravy and served with maple syrup. Or maybe go with the classic Smoked Salmon Benedict. Whatever your choice, it’s sure to be a good one.
