There are few things in life more satisfying than a long, Don Draper-esque lunch break. You know, you pop over to one of Atlanta's many fine eateries, kick back and enjoy an expertly prepped, gourmet meal. That's right, in the middle of the day... for, like, three, maybe four hours. Unfortunately, schedules and minute details like jobs sometimes get in the way. Which is why Pop-Up Chef started three years ago to provide invite-only lunches prepped by some of the best chefs in Atlanta. Oh, and it's grab-and-go, giving you a premiere restaurant lunch experience that's guaranteed not to push your lunch into Mad Men-time territory.
This season, the stand is relocating from its humble Midtown beginnings to a new property in the Westside Provisions District, but the striped-tent canopy is still there, noble as ever. Past delicacies were served up by the likes of Cakes & Ale, One Eared Stag and Buttermilk Kitchen. And, in the coming weeks, pro chefs have been hand-selected from The General Muir, Bocado, Cibo E Beve, and Bantam + Biddy to do their best at the corner of 14th Street and Howell Mill Road. The lunches, which will be available for pick-up, remain a secret up until the day before, but past options have included such hits as a Fried Chicken Biscuit Sandwich (buttermilk biscuit, house-made roasted red pepper jelly and house pickles) and Asian Potato Salad (with sesame seeds and fresh scallions). What's that? Yeah, our stomachs are grumbling, too.Remaining schedule
