- Explore several unique mixology tools and methods in an intimate class setting
- 2 cocktails and bar snacks to enjoy during the class
Are you a seasoned veteran behind your home bar who can mix up anything from an Old Fashioned to a Gin Fizz? Have you’ve taken Tavernpointe’s Cocktails 101 class and mastered your Manhattan making skills? If you answered yes to one or both of these questions, then it might be time to take it up a notch and really dive deep into the art of mixology. Grain’s Cocktails 201 course is the perfect way to acquire some next level bartending skills that you can’t learn anywhere else.
Taught by Grain’s beverage director and bartender extraordinaire Jonathan Turner, this intimate Saturday afternoon class gives students the chance to get geeky and explore the more experimental side of mixology. Grain’s bar is stocked with many of the newest and weirdest cocktail making tools, and Jonathan’s immersive hands-on instruction will have you mastering their methods in no time. At some point in the course of the class, you’ll probably pull out the nitro chargers and learn how to inject classic drinks with liquid nitrogen. You’ll also learn how to use tools like tea siphons and cold brew towers to infuse your drinks with unique handmade ingredients.
At their best, cocktails are the perfect blending of art and science, and during the two hours of Cocktails 201, the sky is the limit on how these two extremes will be explored. If you’re ready to get a little geeky with your bartending, or you want to add some new tools and techniques to your bar cart at home, then this is the perfect class for you.
