Experience City Winery’s globally influenced, locally sourced menu built to be enjoyed alongside a nice glass of wine with this dinner and drinks for two.
No need to drive up to the mountains or fly across the country for a great winery anymore, folks, because now we’ve got access to Atlanta’s first urban winery: City Winery. And this expansive 26,000 sq. ft. in Ponce City Market is truly a winery, complete with fermentation tanks, a barrel room, and its own winemaker. It is not, however, just a winery. City Winery also offers a music and dining venue downstairs and a full-service restaurant and bar upstairs. The upstairs restaurant, for which this Hand-Picked experience applies, is airy and open with high ceilings and tall windows. There are nods to winemaking throughout the space, with deconstructed barrels lining the space and a wine bottle wall, to name a couple.
And while the interior is grand and City Winery also offers everything from wine classes to the seated concert venue, we’re focused on what we tend to focus on best: the restaurant’s food and drink. Let’s start with the drink and, more specifically, the wine. There are many in-house wines on tap for you to choose from, so you’re bound to find something you like. For the more serious imbiber, there’s also a list of 315+ bottles of wine representing more than 60 varietals to choose from. City Winery describes its food as a globally influenced, wine-focused and locally sourced with a Southern flair, and everything is created with wine-drinking in mind (more places should do that, right?). For entrees, think elevated versions of classics like Buttermilk Fried Chicken with Yukon mashed potatoes, sweet cornbread and, rosemary country gravy or Shrimp N' Grits flavored with cajun-spiced shrimp, smoked gouda, and tomato-grits scallion. The desserts are decadent, with specialties like Pech Cobbler A La Mode and Tiva's Chocolate Chantilly Cake.
This dinner for two can be used any night from Sunday — Thursday, and only in the upstairs restaurant. You'll get the first-hand experience of City Winery’s globally influenced, wine influenced and locally sourced menu with your choice of two glasses of wine, an appetizer to share, two dinner entrees and a dessert. And as if that weren't enticing enough, you can just hop on the BeltLine or Uber home afterward because you’ll be in the city rather than wine country. Ah, the joys of an urban winery.
