You know what makes running a 5K even more rewarding? Doing it to support the community and getting a beer at the end. Welcome fall (and the cooler weather it brings), support Candler Park and get in a run at Candler Park Fall Fest’s 5K.
You know what makes running a neighborhood 5k even more rewarding? Doing it for a good cause and with the promise of beer at the end. This neighborhood race has been run for all 17 years that the festival has been festival-ing. But to sweeten up this deal, runners receive custom designed Fall Fest T-shirt and a ticket for a beer from any vendor in the beer tent at the festival. Nothing makes us feel better than running for a cause, and this year, the Candler Park Fall Fest 5K benefits the Mary Lin Elementary school, a public school in Candler Park as well as the Candler Park Neighborhood Organization.
After the run, of course, we’ll be sticking around for the festival. This year is all about the Ferris Wheel! But the artist market partners with the most talented of our locals and the typical festival food offerings have been elevated yet again. Gone are the generic corn dog tents and gyros, and they’ve been replaced by local food truck heroes galore. The bands start at noon each day. Saturday night's theme is "Tribute bands" and includes bands covering The Allman Brothers, INXS, and the Clash. Sunday focuses on local legends, including a collection of local blues
legends who will be receiving an official commendation from the city. And of course there's beer- didn't science tell us once that drinking beer after running is good for us? We're taking that to heart and filling up on all the suds we can (safely) consume.
For this deal, you will need to submit some info at checkout to register for your race bib (with tracking chip), T-shirt size and division. Even if you don't expect to win, in the end, you will have supported the Atlanta community, gotten some exercise and enjoyed a day of fun with Candler Park's Fall Fest.
