Prepare to be dazzled, holiday style. For the first time ever, Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is turning their historic 12 acre estate into a wonderland of lights and splendor, making it the ideal evening for an enchanting holiday experience.
One of our favorite things about Atlanta is exploring the sites of its storied history. One place that always transports us back to the Atlanta of the past is Callanwolde, a magnificent Tudor style mansion built nearly a century ago by Charles Candler, when he was the president of Coca-Cola. The perfectly maintained estate now serves as a fine arts center, offering classes, exhibitions, and special performances throughout the year, and is also home to the Callanwolde Foundation, which provides arts outreach to the surrounding community.
This year, for the first time ever, they are adding a new nighttime event full of art and entertainment for the holiday season. Callanwolde is teaming up with Illuminating Design Inc. – you may have seen their work in past years at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens – to turn the beautiful Candler Estate into a magical wonderland of holiday lights. If you think you know what to expect from a Christmas light show, think again. This is holiday entertainment taken to the next level.
Upon entrance, you’ll be given a map of the estate with directions to all of the featured installations, and then set free to explore the multiple acres of holiday light exhibits. At the center of the show is a giant, 23-foot LED Christmas tree, which features a light show set to classic holiday tunes. With 37 billion hi-res color combinations and an expertly choreographed light show that includes animation, this is a can’t-miss holiday experience for the whole family. From there, there’s plenty more to explore, with spectacular illuminated surprises around every corner. The fun isn’t limited to lights either. Plus, our handpicked access includes two free drinks from the indoor bar inside the Conservatory. If you’re looking to combine nighttime entertainment with holiday festivity, then Callanwolde’s holiday light show will more than fit the bill!
