For the Love of Art: BURNAWAY's 7th Annual Art Crush Auction
Fact: the good people of BURNAWAY, Atlanta's beloved arts publication, know how to throw a party. Join 'em at ADAC (Atlanta Decorative Arts Center) for their 7th annual Art Crush, complete with curated cocktails, eats from our favorite restaurants, dancing, and an arsenal of artwork up for sale.
What To Expect

- Blind Date wall of $100 works on paper
- A live auction featuring custom-made experiences with Atlanta creatives
- ColorATL's cool coloring book will be available for coloring, and for sale
- Art installations by some of Atlanta's hottest artists
- Silent auction phone bidding via Handbid
If we’ve learned anything from the fine folks of BURNAWAY in their near-decade of existence, it’s one thing: they're experts at providing much-needed coverage and commentary on Atlanta's ever-growing arts scene, fostering smart critical dialog, and generally acting as a North Star of all things creative in this town. Oh, and they also know how to throw one damn grand party. Need proof? Look no further than the organization's annual Art Crush Auction, a no-holds-barred throw-down that we look forward to each year with the excitement and anticipation of a kid on Christmas morning. The theme for this year’s bash is "My First Time..."
On Saturday, February 3, come enjoy tasty bites, refreshing libations and get your bids in early! Emcees Baton Bob and Trevor Johns will commence the bidding on some true one-of-a-kind artistic experiences. Here's how it works: a handful of BURNAWAY's insanely creative, mega-talented, swoon-worthy Art Crushes, complete with their own personalized events and auction items, will be up for grabs in the live auction, like, swanky bowling at the Painted Pin with Jiha Moon or axe-throwing and a tour of Blandtown (that's West Midtown to you) with Gregor Turk could be yours by the end of the night. In addition to the stellar lineup of live auction items, the bash will also feature a silent auction of over 40 emerging and mid-career artists from the South.
And, since there ain't no party like a BURNAWAY party, there will be cocktails dreamed up by Navarro Carr from The Sound Table —all the better to wash down the fried chicken, collard greens and grits provided by Bantam + Biddy and The Federal. If the thought of spending an evening sipping on cocktails, crushing on your favorite local artists, and cutting a rug on the dance floor isn't enough to seal the deal, know this: the annual event provides a healthy chunk of funding toward BURNAWAY's noble nonprofit efforts, benefiting the organization's online publication, Art Writers Mentorship Program, public programs and more. We'll raise a glass (and our auction paddles) to that.
