Cake has the power to take us to magical places in a single bite, but for some of us the decorating itself is just as sweet of an experience. In this Rach Makes Cakes, you will learn the art of icing, rosettes and all that comes with cake decorating while enjoying a glass (or two) of wine!
Since opening their doors in Old Fourth Ward, Rach Makes Cakes has been serving up their custom cake creations to the enjoyment of sweet treats throughout our city. Rach Makes Cakes specialize in delicious cakes, cupcakes, and cake pops. All of their goodies are baked fresh, in small batches, just for their customers. Because Rach Makes Cakes
is a custom cake company, they don’t operate like a typical cupcake shop. Their retail hours are limited so that they can create scrumptious, beautiful, custom cakes for their clients. However fear not! They are open on Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 7 PM. Flavors available on Friday and Saturday change based on what is fresh in the kitchen that week.
In this class, you'll learn how to crumb coat and ice a 6” round cake, color buttercream without making it runny, and pipe those beautiful rosettes
on a yummy cake. Of course, you'll take your cake home so you can show it off and share it with your friends and family. These classes are small – 4 attendees maximum. While you will definitely learn a thing or two in these classes, they are intended to be more of an experience rather than the beginning of your culinary career. Think of them as something similar to a painting class where you can sip on wine at the same time. The best part? You’ll take home your delicious creation.
The cake technically serves 12, but no one will know if you eat it all yourself.
