Though the Improv made its way to Andrews Entertainment Complex a mere six months ago, the theatre's name is steeped in history. Ever since opening its doors to New York in 1963, the Improvisation Comedy Club has been a revolving door of comedy royalty—and back in October, that red carpet made its way down to the Andrews entertainment district. Lucky us, 'cause now Buckhead occupies quite a sweet spot on Atlanta's comedy map.
While improv is, of course, a staple, the theatre has quickly become a home-away-from-home for a number of stand-up comics from around the country: "Last Comic Standing" alum Gary Gulman, for example, or "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" veteran Dan St. Germain, both of whom have alit upon the theatre armed with plenty of pants-peeing hilarity. And if all that laughter has your abdominals taxed, fear not: the plethora of eateries in the Andrews complex are repped on an impressively well-rounded menu, where one can acquire an award-winning mango roll from Czar Ice Bar, poblano mac 'n cheese from Cellar 56, and an ungodly creation known as Krispy Kreme bread pudding (for real). Go on, get in on that. You'll be spending the next few hours flexing those abdominal muscles, believe us.
